This work is intending to explore subject of integration of the old and new musical world. The voice is put together with string quartet that is advised to play in the non-vibrato manner so that it integrates better with the character of the piece.
Although the old text is set into the melodic lines that reminisce on the harmony and melody of the past, the treatment of musical material has many modern elements.
