The ancient question, “What is beauty”, is not as prevalent as it once was. And yet, aesthetic definitions are still significant for composing a good work of art. Ratios of harmony, geometrical micro-forms within a structure, divisions and proportions - they all have a profound meaning in this work.
The architecture of a musical piece exploited, and expanded, are the proportions within my musical space. Applying methods to every element of the listening experience, I use durations which control densities, the possibilities of colour, timbre and the orderly evolution of the piece, all enlisted to meet one goal: the beauty of musical symmetry.
These proportions were all conceived on paper but executed through the use of algorithmic software. In this case the program at hand nursed my concepts, it enabled me the more objective position to manipulate each micro activity shaping its growth, its existence within a galaxy of time.
