Cape Adare was written for Dutch duo Gertie Bruin and Niels Bijl.
It was
premiered at de Suite Muziekweek 2002 in De Ijsbreker in Amsterdam.
The combination of instruments was a challenging, compositional task. I
wanted also to give the idiomatic character of accordion, as folkloric
instrument.

Cape Adare zostalo napisane dla holenderskiego duetu Gertie Bruin i Niels Bijl. Premiera odbyla sie na festiwalu de Suite Muziekweek 2002 w Amsterdamskim centrum De Ijsbreker.
Kombinacja instrumentow byla dla mnie wyzwaniem kompozytorskim. Ciekawe polaczenia roznych rejestrow akordu i saksofonu sopranowego, a takze oddanie idiomatyki akordeonu, jako instrumentu ludowego, staloo sie moim wyzwaniem. Nie interesowalo mnie napisanie glosnych efektow. Najwazniejszymi elementami kompozycji sa harmonia i melodia. W mojej tworczosci odgrywaja one szczegolna role.
Poprzez delikatne efekty elektro-akusytczne tworze odczucia przestrzeni zmieniajac akustyke brzmienia i kolor instrumentow.
